We believe that meal times are a valuable learning opportunity for children. Children work with each other to set the table and prepare drinks, and by eating alongside one another and the staff they develop a sound understanding of good table manners.
Lunch is prepared on-site daily from fresh ingredients. Our in-house caterers have developed a fantastic vegetarian menu that runs on a minimum four-week cycle, so as to avoid the same meals being repeated too often. On occasions the children are invited into the kitchen to assist with some of the preparation.
After lunch the children will clear up after themselves, carrying their own plates and cutlery over to the tray ready for washing up. It’s wonderful to observe how quickly they develop independence at meal times and at least one parent reported that their daughter gets most upset at home if she’s not allowed to clear away her own dinner things!
For those children who are with us for just the morning, we offer the option of also staying for lunch. That way the child can experience the social benefits of eating alongside others, and better still you don’t have to feed them yourself when you collect them!
Please contact us if you have any questions about our food or mealtimes. We will be happy to put you in touch with our caterers to discuss any particular dietary requirements your child may have. In the meantime you may wish to peruse the six-week menu that we are currently serving:
